Petanu River Tour

The Petanu River is a great success with our guests at Tanah Merah. The Petanu River Tour is an unforgettable tour that will leave an impression with you for all times.

We start the tour by walking down to the Petanu River, during this walk you will see the breathtaking nature and wildlife that surrounds Tanah Merah Resort.

The next stop on the way is by the temple of the Petanu River. Here one of our Petanu River guides will make their offerings for the spirits in the river and ask for the blessing of everyone who goes into the River.

Now that the offerings are done and everybody is blessed, it is time to start swimming. We are swimming up against the current and it might sometimes be a bit rough, depending on how much it has rained the last couple of days, but you are not to worry, the guides will take good care of you and lead you up the amazing Petanu River.

During your swim up the Petanu River you will see the amazing wildlife that surrounds Tanah Merah. There is a large amount of beautiful butterflies, birds and if the time is right you might see the large tripe of Macaca monkeys that lives in the area.

At the end of our swim you will see the beautiful waterfalls and the natural hot water springs storming down the sides of the Petanu River. This is an excellent place for a natural water massage and we will stay here until we fell rested and then we will jump back into the river and let the current bring us back to the staircase leading up to Tanah Merah.

Before walking back up to Tanah Merah we will take a shower in the natural spring water located near the Petanu River. This is where the locals from Melayang village collect their drinking water every day.

After our shower we will begin our walk back up the staircase and back to Tanah Merah. The Petanu Tour is something that you will never forget and something you must see while visiting Tanah Merah.
