Tanah Merah Bali

As the road rises steadily from Bangli or Tampaksiring, nothing in the surrounding gray landscape of bushes and garden plots suggests the presence of a volcano. But over one more small ridge a dizzying view awaits the eyes, encompassing the crater and beyond. From Panelokan, the main road runs right round the rim towards Kintamani, the panorama shifting as you circle around the crater.

Tanah Merah Kintamani Tour

The Kintamani Tour is one of the must see tours while staying in Bali. The tour will give you an excellent idea of what the Balinese life is all about.

The Kintamani Tour starts with a drive to the famous Besakih Temple also known as the Mother Temple. Perched nearly 1000 meters up the side of Gunung Agung is Bali's most important temple, Pura Besakih. In fact, it is an extensive complex of 23 separate-but-related temples, with the largest and most important being Pura Penataran Agung.

Besakih, as it is known, is at its most impressive during one of the frequent festivals, when hundreds, perhaps thousands, of gorgeously dressed devotees turn up with beautifully arranged offerings. The panoramic view and the mountain backdrop are worth seeing.

The next stop on the way is the huge volcano Kintamani. The Kinta volcano has the biggest crater in Bali. Gunung Batur is actually a volcano inside another volcano, Kintamani.

You will be standing on the crater rim of Kintamani looking directly one Gunung Batur and the famous Lake Batur. It is an amazing view, and very difficult to imagine that there could be a some much inside a crater. Inside the crater there is a Village named after Kintamani, Gunung Batur and Lake Batur. It is definantly worth bringing your camera and get, those amazing panorama shot.

After the amazing Kintamani we will drive to Sai Land Plantation. The Sai Land Plantation is a family owned plantation that grows everything from cacao, coffee and all kind of different herbs.

The Sai Land Plantation has a large selection of special coffee and one in particular the Luwak Kopi. The special coffee is made from coffee berries which have been eaten by and passed through the digestive tract of the Asian Plam Civet (Paradoxurus hermaphroditus). The civets eat the berries, but the beans inside pass through their system undigested.

This special coffee is considered to be one of the most exclusive kinds of coffee in the world. At Sai Land Plantation you will have the chance to taste this special coffee.

After trying all the exciting The, coffee and herbs we return to Tanah Merah to relax the rest of the day.
